Story

Simon Goldstein: broke? Check. Overdue rent? Check. Unemployed? Check. Wife moments away from giving birth? Check. About to jump from the frying pan into the fire? You guessed it: CHECK.

Simon embarks on a white-knuckle journey to try his best to get his life back on track. With the approaching birth of his first child, he’s willing to do just about anything to support his new family. In desperation, he takes a job miles away from home in the projects of Baltimore as a door-to-door self-defense paraphernalia salesman.

Things are running pretty smoothly until his wife breaks the news that she’s gone into labor, which puts Simon up shit’s creek without a paddle.

As he desperately tries to make it to the hospital, he comes face to face with Tucker – a sadistic ruthless psycho – and the scum of the human race. Not quite the day Simon had planned.

While running for his life, he meets Nancy by chance, a quick-witted, hard case TV reporter investigating the dangerous suburbs of Baltimore.

Spurred on by her incredible audacity and fearlessness, Simon will discover an inner strength and resilience that he never knew he possessed. Together they form an unlikely duo and face a hair-raising night that neither will ever forget.
